I have been meaning to do a post on this for over a year now. Sorry for the delay. A friend of mine sent me a link to this site some time ago. A young Catholic woman in Ann Arbor, Michigan makes fine leather products, including breviary and missal covers, and rosary pouches. She sells them via her online store on Etsy.
The missal and breviary covers are hand sewn, and come in a variety of leather types and colors, with the small or large shield of the Order embossed into the leather itself.
For Christmas this year, I do believe that Santa will be bringing me one of these beautiful Rosary pouches, hand crafted from vegetable tanned tooling leather, with the shield of the Order embossed on it! (my inexpensive, faux-leather pouch that came in the mail for free is so full of holes, that it must finally be retired.)
As you will see on her Etsy page, she embosses her work with other Catholic symbols and religious order shields and crests. I did a search on her Etsy page for the word Preachers, which grouped all of the Dominican items together onto one page. You can find....here. Her website, which contains fascinating information and high quality close-ups of her beautiful work, can be found here.
